Warm Living by Wigan Fireplace Centre is a family run business that was established in 1995 on the site of the old J & K Gas Centre showroom in Standishgate, Wigan. Within 3 years of opening, the showroom had trebled its size in both floor space and the number of fireplaces on display.

In 2005 another showroom was opened within the exclusive Abitare furniture studio in Caroline Street, Wigan. Wigan Fireplace Centre continued to grow from strength to strength and by early 2006 a new purpose built showroom was acquired, also in Caroline Street. This was our home for nearly fifteen years and helped us develop the business and provide the excellent quality, choice and value we give to all our customers.

We have made our latest move to our brand new showroom at the end of 2019, allowing us to provide even more choice and value. The showroom now displays over 80 fires and 100 fireplaces from all the leading manufacturers in both the UK and Europe. This magnificent showroom creates a warming homely atmosphere where you can visualise your own front room with our fireplace displays.

Company Purchase

In May of this year, the company was purchased from it’s previous owners and Wigan Fireplace Centre was off and running beginning with a refit of the small 900sqft showroom on Standishgate.

Initially, new products were introduced along with a wide range of fireside accessories, which helped begin the process of establishing ourselves as the premier fireplace company in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

Our First Expansion

The shop premises adjoining the showroom became vacant and provided an ideal opportunity to enlarge our floorspace and introduce an even wider range of products. The work to expand the showroom was completed quickly and our displays doubled to show our customers new and exciting fireplaces.

Our Second Expansion

The premises adjoining the other side of our original showroom became vacant and once again the opportunity to enlarge our display area and continue our expansion was ceased upon and the third area of our showroom was completed soon after, tripling the number of displays within 5 years of our opening.

Our New Concession

In May of this year, the opportunity to display our amazing products within the fabulous Abitare furniture showroom on Caroline Street, was too good to refuse. A large area within their store was provided and we built a fantastic display of over 30 fireplaces, offering all of our services to a new customer base, with clients coming from all over the Northwest to view designer furnishings and now the latest offerings from the fireplace industry.

Introducing Warm Living

Having spent a year within the Abitare Furniture store, the opportunity arose to move into a purpose built, 5000sqft showroom opposite, complete with large car park and main road frontage. A decision was taken to vacate our showroom in Standishgate and move our entire operation to Caroline Street, Wigan. In April of this year, our new showroom was complete making our premises one of the largest fireplace showrooms in the Northwest, with over 90 displays of the latest, designer fireplaces and fires.

Our larger premises presented us with the opportunity to re-brand our business as “Warm Living” By Wigan Fireplace Centre. In trying to grow the concept of fireplaces and fires being sold on a larger scale, in a purpose built, showroom setting, rather than a smaller outlet, that most fireplace showrooms occupied at this time, we felt that branding would play a big part in our future and the “Warm Living” brand was ideal moving forward.

Bigger and Better

In October of this year, the opportunity to expand the business again was presented in the form of even larger premises on Caroline Street, Wigan. A two storey, purpose built, retail unit which would house over 100 displays was completed and opened on 27^th December.

Where We Are Now

We are now three years into this expansion and boast possibly the best fireplace showroom in the north of England with many designer brands featuring the latest gas, electric, wood burning and bio-ethanol products.
